West Seattle has a lot of craftsman bungalows and 1940s homes, and many still heat with oil. Switching from oil to a heat pump is one of our most common jobs here. A heat pump uses the existing ducts in many cases, or we go ductless where there are none.
Homes near Alki and along the bluffs take the wind. Old windows and walls with no insulation make those houses hard to keep warm. Wall insulation and sealing the attic help more than people expect.
No heat, odd noises or short cycling. All major brands.
Blowing cold, stuck in defrost or not keeping up.
Heating and cooling from one efficient system.
For cold rooms, additions and homes without ducts.
Yearly checks that prevent no-heat nights.
Old insulation out, air leaks sealed, new in.
Vapor barrier and insulation for warmer floors.
Repair and replacement, tank and tankless.
